Dharmendra will now be seen in a web show titled Taj

Dharmendra’s reaction to a Twitter user who wondered why he was “behaving like a struggling actor” by asking followers for well wishes for his upcoming film was the most modest.

On Wednesday, Dharmendra gave his first glimpse from the forthcoming online series Taj – Royal Blood. A Twitter user stated Dharmendra was “behaving like a struggling actor” as he sought followers for their well wishes. On Twitter, the veteran actor responded in the most humble way, which impressed his admirers.

“Friends, I am portraying Shaikh Salim Chishti… a sufi saint, in the film Taj – Royal Blood,” Dharmendra said on Twitter. “I need your well wishes for a tiny but crucial duty.” In his long robe, turban, and long white beard, he was virtually unrecognisable.

In response to his remark, one Twitter user said, “Why is he acting like a failing actor?” In response, Dharmendra tweeted, “Vaishnav, life is always a wonderful battle. Everyone, including you and me, is struggling… Resting means…the end of your lovely journey…the end of your cherished dreams.”

A fan slammed the Twitter user for making such a statement against the veteran actor. He wrote, “Some people… How they have the courage to question someone whom they can’t even touch in their nine lives… Always love and respect to you Dharmendra Sir… Wishing you years and years of health… Keep surprising us..”

Responding to his tweet, Dharmendra wrote, “Shaleen, great respect to your loving parents who gave you the most meaningful name. Shaleenta mein hi skoon hai (there is peace in modesty). God bless you Chaudhary.”

Taj stars Naseeruddin Shah as Akbar, Aditi Rao Hydari as Anarkali, Aashim Gulati as Prince Salim, Taha Shah as Prince Murad, Shubham Kumar Mehra as Prince Daniyal, Sandhya Mridul as Queen Jodha Bai, Zareena Wahab as Queen Salima, Sauraseni Maitra as Mehr un Nisa, and Rahul Bose as Mirza Hakim. Subodh Bhave, Aayam Mehta, Deepraj Rana, Shivani Tanksale, Padma Damodharan, Pankaj Saraswat, Digambar Prasad, and Zachary Coffin also play important parts.

Dharmendra will also appear in Karan Johar’s forthcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which will be released on July 28. Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Shabana Azmi, and Jaya Bachchan also appear.
