An onboard medical emergency caused an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Doha to be diverted to Karachi. After the plane touched down, the passenger was pronounced dead.

Via Poulomi Saha: An airline official told news agency ANI that even though an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Doha made an emergency landing at Pakistan’s Karachi airport to offer medical treatment for a sick passenger onboard, the traveler was declared brought-dead upon arrival by the airport medical staff.

The Doha-bound flight left Delhi at 10.17 p.m. on Sunday, according to reports.

According to the airline, a medical emergency on board IndiGo aircraft 6E-1736, which was traveling from Delhi to Doha, caused it to be diverted to Karachi, Pakistan’s Jinnah International Airport.

The airline continued, “Unfortunately, the airport medical staff declared the passenger dead upon arrival.

The airline stated in a statement that it was coordinating with the appropriate authorities to make plans for relocating the remaining customers on the trip.

The statement said, “We are profoundly saddened by the news, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.
