The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will begin on March 31, according to Rajasthan Royals. All of the teams have begun to plan for this massive event. The inaugural match of this league will feature the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GG) taking on the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings. (CSK). The Rajasthan Royals (RR), led by Sanju Samson, will open their season against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 2. Previously, the team management made a significant decision to include a dangerous swing bowler in their squad.

Sandeep Sharma, a right-handed fast bowler from India, has been acquired by Rajasthan Royals for his base salary of Rs. 50 lakhs. Krishna, who is injured as a fast bowler, will be replaced by Sandeep, who has a back injury. Sandeep is one of the tournament’s oldest bowlers and is well known for his ball-swinging skills. Since 2013, he has taken 114 wickets in 104 IPL games, averaging 26.33 with a 7.77 economy rate.

Sandeep played for Punjab Kings from 2013 to 2017 before joining Sunrisers Hyderabad for the IPL’s 2018–2021 season. After returning to Punjab for the 2022 tournament season, he was not purchased in the year-end mini-auction. He took four wickets in the championship match as a member of the India Under-19 team, which triumphed at the 2012 Men’s Under-19 Cricket World Cup in Australia. Sandeep also took one wicket while playing in two T20 Internationals for India’s 2015 tour of Zimbabwe.

The competition also revealed that Punjab had replaced England player Jonny Bairstow with untested Australian all-rounder Matthew Short. Since Bairstow has not fully recovered from the foot injury that resulted in him breaking his leg after slipping on a golf course in September of last year, he has been disqualified from the IPL 2023.

Short’s first IPL season will be this one. In the most recent Big Bash League (BBL) season, the opening batsman was named Player of the Tournament for scoring 458 runs at an average of 35.23 and a strike rate of 144.47, as well as for taking 11 wickets with his off-spin. The base contract price for Short is Rs 20 lakhs. The first match of IPL 2023 will take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on March 31, pitting the defending champion Gujarat Titans against the four-time champion Chennai Super Kings.
