Iran Protest Students Clashed With Security Forces At Universities

Violent clashes broke out between students and security forces at the university in Iran on Sunday. After the death of Mahsa Amini in police custody, students have taken to the streets. According to media reports, the Paramilitary Revolutionary Guard had fixed the time for the students to protest till Saturday. Despite that, there were nationwide protests.

Hossein Salami, the head of the paramilitary Revolutionary Guard, warned young Iranians that Saturday would be the last day of protests for the first time since the death of Mahsa Amini in the custody of the country’s morality police. Iranian youth in particular were called on to stay away from the protests. In a video obtained by CNN via pro-reform activist outlet Iran Wire, two uniformed officers can be seen attempting to arrest a protester. The video is being told of Sanandaz Technical College in northwest Iran. Activist groups in the capital Tehran claimed clashes broke out between protesters, members of the Basij militia and police officers in plainclothes at Azad University.

Protest continues after Mahsa Amini’s death
22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in police custody on September 16. After which protests continue across the country. A woman named Mahsa Amini had expressed her protest against the hijab rules in Iran. He was arrested a few months ago by Iran’s Moral Police for removing Mahsa’s hijab. He was tortured in police custody. Due to which her health deteriorated so much that she went into a coma. There is anger among people in Iran about this.

A video posted by the activist group shows a large crowd of protesters carrying sticks. Tear gas shells were thrown at the crowd but it is not clear who threw it. Students of Tehran University were seen marching and raising slogans. The news agency IRNA reported a large gathering of students and professors at Tehran University in protest. In Sanandaj, gunshots can be heard in a video posted by Kurdish rights group Hango, shot near Kurdistan University. Activist group 1500 Photos also posted a video showing security forces outside Sanandaj Technical College for Girls, another educational facility in the province, on Sunday.
