India defeated the West Indies by an innings and 141 runs in the opening Test of the tour. In the two-test series, the team now leads 1-0. Beginning on July 20, the second game will be held in Port of Spain
The heroes of this triumph were Ravichandran Ashwin and rookie Yashasvi Jaiswal, who skipped the WTC final. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored 171 runs in this game while Ravichandran claimed 12 wickets. He was the game’s best player. Rohit Sharma, the captain, also played a century innings.

The Indian spinners were excellent during the game. The spinners took 17 of the 20 West Indies wickets in this game. In the first and second innings, respectively, spinners took 8 and 9 wickets.

On the third day of play, 13 wickets fell, India declared their first innings at 421/5, and the Windies were all out.

The West Indies team came out to play and was reduced to 130 runs in the second innings after falling behind by 271 runs in the first innings. Alyque Athanaz, a rookie, scored the most runs with 28. The other batters were unable to make a significant impact.
The third Indian, Jaiswal, has scored the most runs in a test debut.
The third Indian to score the most runs in a test debut was Yashasvi Jaiswal. After scoring 171 runs, he was removed. In the opening game, Shikhar Dhawan (187 runs) and Rohit Sharma (177 runs) both scored more runs than Jaiswal. Shreyas Iyer’s (170 runs) score was left behind by Jaiswal.
The century partnership of Kohli and Jaiswal
Virat Kohli and Yashasvi Jaiswal put together a century partnership for the third wicket. On 283 balls, the two added 110 runs.
