Rajasthan Budget: Free electricity and cooking gas

Rajasthan Budget: In advance of the upcoming assembly elections later this year, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot introduced his state’s last budget on Friday and announced a Rs 19,000 crore relief package.

Here is a quick guide to the Rajasthan Budget in 10 points:

  1. The yearly household contribution to the Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, the program’s flagship health insurance program, has increased from 10 lacks to 25 lakh rupees.
  2. Under the National Food Security Act, free rations and food packets will be distributed to around 1 crore families.
  3. Rajasthan’s over 11 lakh farmers will receive free power up to 2,000 units per month. Each month, 100 units will be sent to domestic customers.
  4. Milk will be served to schoolchildren every day at lunchtime.
  5. LPG cylinders will cost 500 rupees for about 76 lakh BPL (below the poverty line) families participating in the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.
  6. 30,000 electric two-wheelers will be provided to female students throughout the state.
  7. The Old Pension Scheme will provide coverage for employees of state government bodies, businesses, academies, and colleges hired before January 1, 2004. (OPS).
  8. For those employed in the gig economy, a 200 crore welfare fund would be set up.
  9. Cooperative banks would provide interest-free loans to farmers in the amount of Rs. 3,000 crores.
  10. The state suggested one-time registration for competitive tests for job seekers amid the paper leak incident.
