SAI bowed to the Haryanan boxers, promising that Bhiwani’s training facility wouldn’t be shut down and that Olympic boxing champion Vijender Kumar had learned the sport here.

The Haryana boxers received a bow from the Sports Authority of India (SAI). The authority has reversed its decision to close the boxing training facility in Bhiwani in light of the protest. SAI has made this announcement via its official Twitter account.

The SAI training centre in Bhiwani will continue to offer boxing as a sport, according to tweets. The Haryana government and all sports enthusiasts have applauded the Authority’s decision.

This boxing training facility in Haryana’s Bhiwani district is referred to as “Cuba of India.” By learning the boxing techniques from here, approximately 15 Olympian boxers and hundreds of international athletes have brought honour to the nation on a global scale. Vijender Kumar, who won bronze at the Olympics, as well as Akhil, Dinesh, and Jitendra are all Olympian boxers who hail from Bhiwani. The closure of the training facility angered these athletes and other sports fans.

On April 5, the operations division of the Sports Authority of India (SAI) had sent out a letter informing people about the transfer of boxing from the SAI centre in Bhiwani. Since then, Haryana has experienced ongoing protests at both the political and boxer levels. The decision has been reversed by the authority in light of the protest.

The players who are training here have asked Sai, as well as the state and federal governments, to provide more facilities for sports such as boxing in Bhiwani. Because a large number of players have received coaching at the Sai Center and other city academies. Women boxers training in Bhiwani have demanded that the SAI build a girls’ hostel.

Selja expressed her displeasure over the closure of the HAU centre in Hisar and the boxing training facility in a letter to the chief minister that she had written. Selja is the general secretary of the Indian National Congress and a former state president of the Haryana Congress. He has demanded to speak with the federal government on behalf of the players in a letter to Chief Minister Manohar Lal. Additionally, he stated in the letter that Haryana is the centre of sports and that the Central Government’s decision is incorrect in light of this.
