Sukesh Chandrashekhar asserts he gave the AAP 60 crore; an investigation is likely

Credent Tv: Sukesh Chandrashekhar’s accusations have already been rejected by the AAP, which said that he was imitating a BJP spokesperson and that he would join the party after being released from prison.

According to his attorney Anant Malik, jailed “conman,” Sukesh Chandrashekhar has reaffirmed that he donated 60 crores to the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). According to Malik, a powerful committee considered his testimony and concluded that an investigation was necessary because the accusations were serious.

Chandrashekhar had earlier renewed his accusation of paying money to AAP minister Satyendar Jain for safety in jail and obtaining a Rajya Sabha seat in a statement to a committee assembled by Lieutenant Governor of Delhi VK Saxena, according to news agency PTI.

The party leaders had previously disputed Chandrashekhar’s allegations, claiming that he was acting as a BJP spokesperson and that he would join the party after being released from prison.

The charges made by Chandrashekhar against Jain and others were investigated by a three-person committee led by the senior secretary (home), who judged the allegations to be “serious” in nature and suggested hiring a specialized agency to conduct the investigation. According to officials aware of the event, the committee met with Chandrashekhar during its investigation as well as agents from the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) looking into the case.

According to a person with knowledge of the situation, Chandrashekhar repeated his claims that he gave Jain 60 crore (50 crores for allegedly securing a Rajya Sabha seat from the Aam Aadmi Party and 10 crores as protection money) and paid another 12.50 crore to the director general of prisons at the time, Sandeep Goel. Jain was the minister in charge of prisons and was incarcerated due to a money laundering case (the portfolio is now with deputy CM Manish Sisodia).

The official claims that Chandrashekhar was interviewed by the committee on November 14 and 15 in the Mandoli Jail, where he is currently being held. The con artist claimed, “Arvind Kejriwal was fully aware of these financial transactions, and Rupees 50 crore were transferred in cash to Satyendar Jain at the farm residence of Delhi’s transport minister Kailash Gahlot in Asola Mines in four installments. Once I sent the complete amount of 50 crores in 2017, CM Kejriwal, Jain, and Gahlot also joined the dinner party I hosted at the Hyatt Regency, Bhikaji Kama Place.
