The soon-to-be iPad competitor will go on sale on June 27
Although the OnePlus Pad is now at the top of our ranking of the greatest Android tablets, the OnePlus Pad Pro seems likely to unseat it in a few weeks.
The OnePlus Pad Pro, which we anticipate will be known as the OnePlus Pad 2 in the US, is described by OnePlus as the “most powerful Android tablet” to date in a recent Weibo post (via WCCFTech). Although the business has not officially disclosed the chipset specifications, earlier reports suggested that the next best tablet competitor will likely be powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which would certainly support OnePlus’ audacious assertion.
Superb MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset powers the original OnePlus Pad, while Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is the nearest rival running Android on the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. The most recent iteration of Qualcomm’s flagship silicon powers nearly all of the top Android phones, including as the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra and OnePlus 12. Therefore, it seems likely that OnePlus would also want to equip the OnePlus Pad 2 with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU, at least in the US.
It’s interesting to note that certain studies have shown the recently introduced MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ to be the most potent Android chipset available at the moment; therefore, it’s possible that OnePlus is referring to this specific chipset in their marketing instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3
Furthermore, choosing the Dimensity 9300+ would probably enable OnePlus to keep the OnePlus Pad 2 reasonably priced, as MediaTek chipsets are often less expensive than Qualcomm chipsets.
Nevertheless, given the latter’s popularity in the US market, we believe it is more likely that the business will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 CPU in the OnePlus Pad 2.

What else is known about the OnePlus Pad 2, which is scheduled for release on June 27? Well, purportedly leaked Weibo photographs seem to depict a nearly identical-looking tablet to the OnePlus Pad, though we anticipate OnePlus will upgrade the current model’s battery and camera.
