This is going to be a huge year. Naturally, India is hosting the G-20. The United States is hosting APEC this year. The G7 is being hosted by Japan. “I am aware that our President is eager to visit India in September. He’ll be visiting India for the first time as part of the G-20 Leaders Summit. We’re very excited about what the upcoming few months hold,” he declared.

“This new year has only been going for a little over three months. And a lot of really exciting things have happened,” he continued.

This includes the trip to India made by the Secretaries of State Tony Blinken, the Treasury Janet Yellen, and the Commerce Gina Raimondo. Several senior administration officials attended the India-US Forum in Delhi.

India has been leading the charge to advance a constructive G-20 agenda as the organization’s president.

“Dr. Jaishankar hosted his QUAD counterparts in March for a ministerial meeting and extraordinary public events at the Raisina Dialogue with all four foreign ministers present.” “It was the first such public discussion with QUAD foreign ministers, and it really drove home how our four countries are coming together to support the Indo-Pacific people,” he said.

And finally, this month saw the arrival of Eric Garcetti, our new ambassador. He has already been welcomed with open arms by our American and Indian staff at the US Embassy. He is looking forward to meeting with the rest of India once he has presented his credentials, and I believe India will discover that he is young, he is enthusiastic, and he is eager to take our relations to new heights,” Mr. Lu said.

The G-20 Foreign Ministerial meeting was hosted by India last month, and he said, “We are really grateful for the tremendous work India has done. We look forward to actively participating in the many future G-20 meetings coming up this year, including the New Delhi Leaders Summit in September.”

India prepared an agenda for the foreign ministers’ meeting that allowed them to discuss some of the most important issues facing the world today and deliberate on finding practical solutions.

“We have observed how the G-20 unites nations for cooperative action. There was no exception at the March meeting. “The G-20 is a potent forum where the world’s leading economies can come together to respond to global challenges: food security, health, energy insecurity, climate change, and unsustainable debt,” he said. “India has already demonstrated this during the first few meetings of its presidency.
