the past five years, the number of women cricketers on contract has not increased: 5 crores for one male of Grade A, with a total contract of 5.1 crores for women.
The BCCI is the world’s wealthiest cricket organisation. He demonstrated this on Sunday by raising the domestic tournament’s prize pool. But occasionally, it still shows discrimination. Taking the central contract granted to Indian cricket players as an example. The central contracts of male and female cricketers differ from one another, but not in the way a well and a ditch do.
Women receive money in lakhs, while men receive it in crores. In addition to the disparity in the amount, the board also uses unfair criteria when awarding contracts. Male cricketers received contracts from BCCI on March 26, but women are still waiting. In the boards of other nations, this does not occur.

Both of Australia’s teams received contracts earlier this month. Additionally, BCCI did not increase the number of women’s cricket players under central contract after 2018. Former international cricketer Arundhati Roy claims that BCCI is now actively working to offer men and women players the same amenities.
agreement with 19 women’s cricket players
Only 19 players in the women’s section receive contracts from the board, compared to 26 players in the men’s section. The men’s team received grades of A+, A, B, and C. The women’s team earned an A, B, and C. Men receive 7 points in A+, 5 in A, 3 in B, and 1 in C. 50 lakh females are in grade A, 30 lakh in B, and 10 lakh in C.
Contract for men’s central worth 82 crores
Only 5.1 crores are spent on contracts in the women’s section, compared to 82 crores in the men’s section. That is roughly 16 times less than men who play cricket. Compared to male Grade A cricketers, contracts for entire women’s teams are slightly higher.
2015 saw agreement for women.
Women in cricket received contracts in 2015. Then, there were 15 lakhs in grade A and 10 lakhs in grade B available. Male cricketers received one crore in A grade, 50 lakh in B grade, and 30 lakh in C grade back then. 2018 saw the addition of Grade C to the women’s section. 50,000 in grade A, 30,000 in B, and 10,000 in C.
