Suniel Shetty claimed that distributors frequently refused to buy his film if it lacked action sequences.

According to Suniel Shetty, he chose the wrong movies, and his audience isn’t interested in “paying for rubbish.” The actor claimed that when his kids see the support he gets from his fans, they enquire as to why he quit making movies. Son Ahan Shetty and his daughter Athiya of Suniel are both actors in the Hindi cinema industry who have appeared in a few films.

In 1992, he made his acting debut in Balwaan. Despite appearing recently in non-Hindi films, Suniel never ceased working in the film industry. He has appeared in films in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam over the past four years. He made multiple cameo roles in Hindi movies, and the 2017 film A Gentleman, which starred Sidharth Malhotra, was his last to have a significant role.
