In order to grow its fleet and network, Air India has announced plans to hire more than 1000 pilots. Trainers and captains are also included in this. At the moment, the airline employs over 1,800 pilots. To expand its fleet, the company recently placed an order for 470 new aircraft.

Pilot jobs have been advertised by Air India. We are hiring trainers, first officers, and captains for our fleet of A320, B777, B787, and B737 aircraft. Additionally, it mentions that its fleet will grow by more than 500 aircraft.

Employees complain in a letter to Ratan Tata about the salary structure.

Air India is recruiting pilots at a time when the airline’s employees are protesting the previously implemented revised salary structure. Over 1,500 Air India pilots have written a letter to Tata Sons Chairman Emeritus Ratan Tata and filed a complaint with the HR department.

In the past, the largest order in aviation history was given.

The airline had recently placed the largest order for 470 aircraft in aviation history. Air India will receive 250 aircraft from the French company Airbus and 220 aircraft from the American company Boeing as part of this agreement. The first 31 aircraft will enter service by the end of the year, with the remainder arriving by mid-2025.

The 4 airlines of the Tata Group have 220 aircraft.

220 aircraft are owned by the Tata Group’s Air India, Air Asia India, Vistara, and Air India Express.

48 wide-body and 172 narrow-body among them. 45 wide-body aircraft will be used for international travel.

The 300 aircraft owned by rival Indigo will be used for short-haul and domestic travel.

With a 54.9% market share, Indigo is in first place. Air India’s monopoly on international travel is broken by the 26% of domestic air traffic that is controlled by Tata group airlines. especially in destinations in America and Europe

500 of the 800 total aircraft operated by Indian airlines are Airbus narrowbody models.

By adding new aircraft to its fleet, Air India hopes to extend its service to additional long-distance locations around the globe. At the moment, foreign airlines are in charge and comfortably in control of this sizeable portion of the market. The Indian airlines will directly compete with the Gulf carriers as a result of Air India’s entry into this market.
