Sarvadanand Barnwal, an Indian Statistical Service (ISS) official from the 2010 batch, has been named Director of the Department of Land Resources

Sarvadanand Barnwal, an Indian Statistical Service (ISS) official from the 2010 batch, has been named Director of the Department of Land Resources. The appointment was made on Friday, April 26, 2024, pursuant to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training.

Tenure and Recommendation
Barnwal’s appointment is through the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of five years from the date of taking over charge or until further orders, whichever occurs first. The Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation proposed him for central deputation.

Key Responsibilities
Barnwal, as Director of the Department of Land Resources, will be responsible for overseeing and implementing various land management programs, policy formation, and data-driven decision-making procedures. His knowledge of statistical analysis and data-driven approaches will be useful in streamlining processes and ensuring effective resource allocation.
