Sardarshahr: Anil Sharma of the Congress won the Sardarshahr assembly by-election in Rajasthan by a margin of 26,850 votes over Ashok Kumar Pincha of the BJP; Lalchand Moond of the Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) finished third. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot hailed the victory as “the people’s seal on his government’s good governance and public welfare schemes.”

There were a total of 10 candidates. Sharma got 91,357 votes, Pincha 64,505 and Moond 46,753 votes.This is the 10th time the Congress won the seat since Independence. After senior Congressman and MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma passed away, a bypoll was required. Congress leader and Chief Minister Gelot expressed his gratitude to the electorate and said that the bypoll result was a clear indication that the Congress would win an absolute majority and form the government in Rajasthan in 2023.

Congratulations to Congress candidate Anil Sharma on his victory in the Sardarshahar by-election, and heartfelt thanks to all voters, Gehlot tweeted. “This victory is the seal of the public on the transparent, sensitive, accountable good governance and public welfare schemes of the Congress government for education, health, and social security,” he added.

No matter how much the BJP lies, the people of Rajasthan are with the truth, and in 2023, tradition will change and they will make the Congress win again, Gehlot continued.State Congress president Govind Singh Dotasra expressed his sincere gratitude to all the voters and congratulated the party workers for Anil Sharma’s victory in the by-election.

“The victory margin has increased since the last election, which shows the public has faith in the state government’s and the Congress’s development efforts,” he said. Deputy Leader of the Opposition Rajendra Rathore claimed that the practise of showing empathy and compassion in politics has become ingrained in the system. The late MLA Bhanwarlal Sharma’s family received sympathy from the public. “The Congress has won this by-election on a sympathy wave. But a minor party such as RLP garnering a substantial percentage of votes is a matter of introspection. We will avenge this defeat in the general election,” he said.
