Credent TV | Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, said on Saturday that officials like judges and bureaucrats should focus on serving the nation rather than worrying about what they want to do after retirement. Gehlot stated that everyone who is given the opportunity to serve their nation by becoming a chief minister, MLA, MP, or judge should be proud of themselves for doing so.
Ashok Gehlot was speaking in Jaipur at the 18th All India Legal Services Authority’s opening session. Gehlot made reference to the appointment of former Indian Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi as a Rajya Sabha MP in his remarks. He said that Justice (retd) Gogoi, one of the four Supreme Court justices who declared that democracy is in danger, afterwards retired and became a member of parliament.
