12 Nepalese girls who were being transported to Africa were saved by the city police. The Nepal embassy provided the city police with a tip on these girls, who had been brought from Delhi and were on their route to Ethiopia via the Jaipur airport. The girls were given sanctuary at a woman’s shelter and will soon be returned to Nepal.

A police squad was sent to the airport after the Jaipur Airport police station learned of the probable human trafficking. The females were escorted to the police station and interrogated after being seen at the airport.

In the previous month, there have been two instances of attempts to traffic people through Jaipur airport. Two girls were earlier saved as they were being transported to Dubai. They were both taken to Delhi under the guise of finding employment there. The Jaipur airport is being used by people traffickers to avoid tighter security at the Delhi airport. The girls are transported by car to Jaipur, where they board flights to other nations.

When the two girls learned that they were being moved to Dubai, they made an effort to get in touch with their families. Once they arrived in Jaipur, these females checked into a hotel.
