Gulmohar trailer

The Disney+ Hotstar drama Gulmohar follows the Batra family as they must relocate after the sale of their property. The movie will debut on March 3. It stars Sharmila Tagore, Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, Suraj Sharma, and Amol Palekar.

Three generations of a family who have grown apart through time are the focus of the drama Gulmohar. Sharmila Tagore plays Kusum Batra, the matriarch of the family, in the Hindi film’s trailer, which was directed by Rahul V. Chittella. Kusum decides to sell the family home, Gulmohar, and move to Pondicherry. As a result of her declaration, her son Arun (Manoj Bajpayee) is upset and her grandson Suraj Sharma wants to be more independent.

Simran appears in Gulmohar as Arun’s wife along with Amol Palekar, Kaveri Seth, and Utsavi Jha in the cast. Along with the strained father-son connection, the trailer also suggests that the family may be torn apart even more by a family mystery regarding their late father’s will than by the distance between Delhi and Pondicherry.

Arpita Mukherjee and Rahul collaborated on the writing for Gulmohar, and Siddhartha Khosla composed the music. The American television programs This Is Us and Only Murders in the Building have both used music by the Emmy-nominated composer. On March 3, Gulmohar will make its Disney+ Hotstar debut.

In a statement, Rahul, who is directing Gulmohar for the first time, said, “Times are changing, people’s perspectives towards the world and particularly towards their families are also continually changing and evolving. Arpita Mukherjee and I were eager to investigate this reality through a narrative style. The purpose of the film is to let viewers of all ages share in our Batra family’s love and togetherness. It appeared and felt as though Sharmila Ji, Manoj Bajpayee, Simran, Suraj Sharma, Kaveri Seth, and Utsavi Jha were a real family. Gulmohar was made with a lot of love, and we hope that viewers on Disney+ Hotstar will feel the same way.

After 13 years, veteran performer Sharmila is making a comeback in the movies. Her most recent appearance was in Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan’s Break Ke Baad (2010) directed by Danish Aslam. Manoj has also starred in the movies Despatch and Joram. His most recent appearance was in the Zee5 movie Dial 100. In Phillauri (2017), which also starred Anushka Sharma and Diljit Dosanjh, Suraj played the lead role. In addition to being a series regular on the Disney+ Hotstar series How I Met Your Father, he was most recently featured in the Netflix film Wedding Season.
