Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India’s women’s cricket team, has been suspended for two games

Kaur won’t be able to participate in the Asian Games’ first two games as a result of this ban. In the third One-Day International against Bangladesh, Kaur hit the stump bat and argued against the umpire’s ruling.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has penalised the 34-year-old Indian captain in two separate incidents. Harman has been fined 50% of his match fee after being found guilty of violating Level-2 of the ICC Code of Conduct. Additionally, 3 demerit points have been assessed as punishment.

For a Level-1 violation involving “public criticism of an incident occurring in an international match,” Harmanpreet Kaur was also fined 25% of her match fee. She had publicly criticised the match’s umpiring during the presentation ceremony.

The opening Asian Games match for India will take place on September 22.

On September 22, the Indian team’s first game in the Asian Games will take place. According to the ICC T20 rankings, Team India is the best team in Asia. We will therefore play the quarterfinals right away. Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are three of the top four teams that will compete after the top eight. There won’t be any cricket matches on September 23 due to the Asian Games opening day.

On the morning of the actual final, a third-place match between the losing semi-final teams will also take place. The women’s division will feature 14 total matches.

Prior to this, the final 10 teams will compete in the qualifying round. From September 19 to September 21, there will be 6 qualifier matches played. Four quarterfinals will take place on September 22 and 24.

What exactly is going on?

Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of India, hit the stumps after being LBWed by Bangladesh in the third ODI. She appeared dissatisfied with the decision made by the umpire, and as she walked back to the pavilion, she was overheard yelling angrily at the on-field umpire. He had even suggested that there should be umpires present during the trophy photo shoot.

He continued to express his displeasure even after the game, saying, “The umpiring was very poor, such decisions at the international level look very disappointing.”

Harman was out in the 34th over, and Team India could only manage 225 runs while chasing a 226-run target. The third ODI ended in a tie, and the three-match series ended in a 1-1 tie. The match was officiated by Muhammad Kamruzzaman and Tanveer Ahmed. The umpires were both from Bangladesh.
