Pak vs NZ: After a 0-0 Test series, Pakistan defeated New Zealand by 6 wickets in the first ODI. In 48.1 overs, Pakistan beat New Zealand’s 256-run target. They had half-century innings from wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan, captain Babar Azam, and starting pitcher Fakhar Zaman.
The player of the match was Naseem Shah, who took 5 wickets in the first innings. The second game of the three-match ODI series will take place on January 11 at Karachi’s National Stadium.

None of the Kiwis were able to put in a big inning.

The New Zealand team struggled to get going when they were put in to bat first after losing the toss. Opening batsman Devon Conway was bowled by Naseem for a golden duck in the first over. Along with Finn Allen, captain Kane Williamson (age 26) added 37 runs. Allen, however, went on to score 29 runs while using the power play.

Tim Southee scored 15 runs, Glenn Phillips scored 37, Mitchell Santner scored 21, Daryl Mitchell scored 36, and wicketkeeper Tom Latham scored 42. The most runs were scored by Michael Bracewell (43). Henry Shipley was out for zero runs at the same time that Lockie Ferguson, who had already scored one, was still not out.

For Pakistan, Naseem Shah took 5 wickets. Usama Mir, a rookie leg-spinner, dismissed both Latham and the captain Williamson. Muhammad Nawaz and Muhammad Wasim each experienced one success. In 50 overs, New Zealand could only muster 255 runs for 9 wickets against Pakistan’s potent bowling.

Pak vs NZ, Rizwan’s innings helped Pakistan win

Imam-ul-Haq (11) was the wicket that Pakistan lost while attempting to reach the 256-run target. Then, Fakhar Zaman (56) and Babar Azam collaborated for 78 runs (66). After Fakhar was dismissed, Babar and Mohammad Rizwan added 60 runs (77).

Rizwan and Haris Sohail (32) combined for 64 runs, which helped the team win. In the end, Rizwan and Agha Salman gave the team victory (13). In 48.1 overs, Pakistan scored 258 runs while losing 4 wickets. For New Zealand, Michael Bracewell secured the maximum of two wickets. Tim Southee and Glenn Phillips had a one-to-one victory.
