Scotland won the ODI World Cup qualifier on the last ball, defeating Ireland by one wicket; Oman’s second consecutive victory

Scotland defeated Ireland by one wicket on the final ball in the seventh and final match of the ODI World Cup qualifiers. In a different game, Oman defeated UAE by 5 wickets to win for the second time in a row

For Ireland, Campher played a 120-run inning.

Ireland scored 286 runs for 8 wickets in 50 overs while batting first. Scotland’s response saw them reach the target with the final ball after losing 9 wickets. Scotland’s captain elected to bowl first after winning the toss. Fast bowler Braden McMullen claimed a five-wicket haul that was a career high.

Curtis Campher scored 120 runs for Ireland, and Dockrell added 69 runs. 32 runs were contributed by Andy McBrine in addition to these two.

For Scotland, Lesk scored an unbeatable 91.

Scotland’s pursuit of a 287-point goal got off to a rocky start. Scotland’s 152-run total included 7 wickets lost. Ireland appeared to have a firm hold. In such a scenario, Scotland won by one wicket on the final ball thanks to Michael Lesk’s unbeaten 91 off 61 balls.

Joshua Little and George Dockrell each claimed 2-2 wickets, while Ireland’s Mark Adair claimed three wickets.

By five wickets, Oman defeated UAE.                          

Oman defeated UAE to win its second league match of the season on Wednesday. The UAE team scored 227 runs for 8 wickets while batting first. which the Oman team completed in 46 overs with the loss of just five wickets.

The top two teams from the qualifying rounds will compete in the World Cup.

India will host the ODI World Cup from October to November. There will be ten teams that compete. The top eight teams have been chosen based on rankings. The qualifiers will choose the other two teams.

The qualifiers feature 10 teams, including West Indies and Sri Lanka. The top two teams from the qualifier competition taking place in Zimbabwe will advance to the World Cup.
