Student Avni Malhotra at IIM Sambalpur Receives Pay Package of 64.61 Lakhs

The IIM Sambalpur placement season featured participation from over 130 companies

The highest package, worth 64.61 lakh LPA (lakh per annum), was won by an IIM Sambalpur student during this year’s placement season. In comparison to the previous year, the institute’s highest salary saw an increase of 146.7%.

After successfully completing five to six rounds of interviews, Avni Malhotra has been hired by Microsoft. Avni Malhotra spent more than three years working at the industry leader in software services, Infosys, before joining IIM Sambalpur. She graduated with a B.Tech in computer science.

Recently, the placement season for the MBA class of 2021–2023 came to an end at IIM Sambalpur, where all 167 of its students were placed. The highest salary offered this year increased by 146.7%, and the average salary increased by 26.06% to  16.64 LPA, according to the institute. The median salary increased to 16.00 LPA, a 28.8% increase.

The maximum international package a student could accept was 64.15 LPA.

According to the institute, the top 25% of its batch’s average CTC increased from 18.79 LPA to 25.19 LPA. The average package received by female students was 18.25 LPA, compared to 15 LPA on average for male students.

The IIM Sambalpur placement season attracted more than 130 companies. Microsoft, Adani, Vedanta, Tolaram, Jindal Group, Aditya Birla, Micron, GMR Group, Amazon, Accenture, AM/NS India, Cognizant, ICICI, Tresvista, Deloitte, EY, Bosch, Mercedes Benz, Capgemini, Tata Power, and Bennett & Coleman were a few of them.

This year, there were 44% more new recruiters and 33% more companies visiting the campus overall.

Sales and marketing had the most jobs secured, followed by general management and IT/analytics. In terms of industry, 26% of the jobs were in IT/ITeS and 30% were in Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI).
