“Swachhotsav 2023- 1000 Cities are targeted to become 3-Star Garbage Free by October 2024”

Sh. Hardeep S. Puri stated that 1000 cities are aimed to achieve a 3-Star Garbage Free rating by October 2024 during the International Zero Waste Day 2023 in New Delhi.

The Hon. Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs, Sh. Hardeep S. Puri, declared that 1000 cities are aimed to achieve a 3-Star Garbage Free rating by October 2024 during the International Zero Waste Day 2023 in New Delhi. Since its inception in January 2018 to encourage a competitive and mission-driven approach among ULBs, the GFC-Star rating protocol has seen a marked increase in certification.

The Minister praised the “Swachhta Doots” from all over the nation, praising them for being leaders in their communities and agents of change as well as for their capacity to transform obstacles into chances for a living.

Swachhtav is an Indian government initiative to promote cleanliness and hygiene.

It was launched in 2019 with the goal of raising awareness about the importance of cleanliness, encouraging citizen participation, and recognising those who help with the cleanliness drive.To increase the effectiveness of the drive for cleanliness, the initiative includes youth, schoolchildren, and technology.

By October 2024, 1000 cities must be 3-Star Garbage Free in order to make India a cleaner and healthier place.In order to involve the public and foster a sense of responsibility, Swachhotsav events are held on a national, state, and local level. These events include campaigns, drives, competitions, workshops, and seminars.

To raise citizens’ awareness of the importance of cleanliness and hygiene in their daily lives.Encourage citizens to join the cleanliness campaign and turn it into a mass movement.

Individuals and organisations who have made significant contributions to the cleanliness drive will be recognised and rewarded.to engage young people and students in the cleanliness campaign and to educate them on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene.to encourage the use of technology and innovation in the drive for cleaner communities and make it more effective.
