Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar held on nicely to earn an additional 10.34 crores on Thursday after getting off to a strong start on Wednesday with 15.73 crores at the box office. It was a full day and the day following Holi’s partial holiday, so in a manner, things were even out. The movie would have been considerably more stable if it had made between 12 and 13 crores, but the absolute minimum was a score above 10 crores, which has luckily been achieved.

The movie needs to remain fairly steady from here, and based on current trends, at least 10–11 crores would return. The morning and afternoon shows would have the typical day-to-day decline, but the evening and night shows should rebound owing to the weekend factor, thus a double-digit score is once again surely in the cards.

Hopefully, these are good numbers coming in for a rom-com genre. The expectations are also much higher because this is a big-budget production that goes beyond merely being a rom-com. The movie will try to make at least 20 crores on Sunday, and considering the kind of merits this Luv Ranjan movie holds, it should do so. Nevertheless, in order for that to happen, the momentum would need to be maintained. As a result, today and tomorrow must continue to witness audiences praising Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor for all their hard work.

The movie has so far made 26.07 crores, but ideal first-three-day earnings would be beyond the 40 crores mark.
