Rishi Singh spoke to after winning Indian Idol 13 about his journey, including his adoption on the programme and his rumoured relationship with Bidipta Chakraborty.

Rishi Singh of Ayodhya was named Indian Idol 13’s victor on Sunday. The trophy, a monetary prize of Rs. 25 lakh, and a brand-new automobile were presented to the young performer. The first and second runners-up were named as Debosmita Roy and Chirag Kotwal, respectively. In an interview with Rishi Singh claimed that he never “expected to win” and that by the time the results were announced, he was completely out of it.

“The competition was incredibly fierce, and I honestly didn’t think I could take home the trophy. I am really appreciative of everyone that cast a vote for me. They are the reason I am here holding the prize. This triumph means a lot to me, of course, but this love is much more precious to me,” he said.

Given his lack of formal training, Rishi Singh expressed his scepticism about how his participation in the tournament would pan out. “Everyone else in the competition has trained for years, but I have no official education.” I was unsure and afraid that would turn out to be a weakness for me. Yet I believe this is the basis for the term “divine endowed.” I was aware that the Almighty would advance me since He had endowed me with this talent.

Throughout the course of the episode, he too learned that Rishi Singh had disclosed that he had been adopted. The winner said that that is his reality and that he cannot escape it when questioned about the same. He continued, “The love I’ve received from my foster parents is much beyond anything a youngster could ever ask.” “I was surprised because it was obviously major news for me. I believe that accepting the truth was what was most crucial. I could only live in harmony with my parents in that way. Also, I think everyone has noticed the connection we have. They could connect with me and our experience. And I agree.

I could only live a peaceful life with my parents if I did that. Also, I believe that everyone has noticed our connection. They connected with me and our narrative. And I believe that through us, a great deal of other families just like ours will find the strength to accept their truth.

Many people did, however, wonder if the revelation was made on live to win viewers’ pity votes given that it was a reality show. Rishi Singh claimed that he ignored the criticism and kept each week’s performance in mind. He continued by saying that nothing else would matter to him if he and his parents understood and accepted the truth.

The 21-year-old singer’s friendship with fellow participant Bidipta Chakraborty contributed to his popularity on the programme. He denied the claims of an affair when asked about the truth of his relationship with her and responded, “We are really good friends. Also, people enjoyed our chemistry and connection, which is why we were asked to sing on so many love songs. And I’m so happy that despite what people might think, our friendship was never affected.

In addition to playback singing, Rishi Singh said he wants to concentrate on writing his own songs. He mentioned how many people valued his work and how he wanted to live up to their expectations.

As a final question, we asked him if Virat Kohli had followed him on Instagram and shared some of his pictures. He screamed, “Honestly, it feels unreal to me. Sometimes, in the middle of nowhere, this notion pops up. Why am I receiving such a lot of love? How is it possible that I caught this famous cricketer’s attention? It’s all a dream, and I can’t even describe how lovely it is.

The other finalists from Indian Idol 13 were Bidipta Chakraborty, Shivam Singh, and Sonakshi Kar in addition to Rishi Singh, Debosmita, and Chirag.
