Air Pollution : Delhi NCR Sky covered with Dust, people complaining about irritation in eyes

With the onset of October, the level of air pollution in Delhi-NCR has been increasing continuously. The worst situation among NCR cities is that of Ghaziabad and Gurugram, where the quality index reached 226 on Wednesday. Similarly, in the city of Gurugram, the AQI has reached beyond 200.

Stubble started burning in Punjab, Haryana and UP
Apart from Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, the states adjoining Delhi, incidents of burning of paddy straw have also increased in Punjab. According to the information received, about 200 incidents of stubble burning are coming to the fore every day, including the three states. According to experts, the air of Delhi-NCR may become more toxic due to the effect of stubble burning in the coming days.

Eye irritation due to smog in Delhi-NCR
Meanwhile, some people have also complained of burning in the eyes. Smag is being told behind this. Visibility has also reduced due to smog in Delhi-NCR. The effect of smog is more visible due to lack of strong sunlight.

Air pollution started increasing as the rain stopped
The air quality index in Delhi-NCR has started rising as soon as the rains stop and the monsoon leaves. In Delhi-NCR, the air pollution level is approaching 200 in Anand Vihar, Dhaula Kuan, Ashram, Lajpatnagar, Peeragarhi, Madhuban Chowk, Wazirabad and Badarpur border.

It is worth noting that in view of the prevention of air pollution in Delhi-NCR, a graded response action plan has been implemented. Under this, restrictions will be imposed in several phases. In fact, diesel generators will be banned in Delhi-NCR as soon as the AQI crosses 300.

Last year, November and December made a record of pollution
After November in 2021, Delhi’s pollution had set a new record in December as well. While November was the most polluted in the last six years, in December it happened for the first time during the last seven years, while Delhiites had to breathe poisonous air for six consecutive days.

Not a single day out of 31 in the month of August got clean air. Talking about the average AQI, in 2015 it was the lowest at 298 and in 2016 the highest was 364. It stood at 314 in 2017, 358 in 2018, 336 in 2019, 332 in 2020 and 336 in 2021.
