Aspirants for undergraduate entrance exams were uncertain as to how the rationalisation of NCERT books would affect the entrances.

Given that the exam is open to all students, not just those from a specific board, the announced syllabus will remain the same. According to a senior National Testing Agency (NTA) official, not all boards have rationalised the content.

In terms of applicants, CUET continues to be the second-largest entrance exam in the nation. 12.50 lakh students registered for the CUET-UG’s first edition, and 9.9 lakh of them submitted applications.

With an average of 18 lakh registrations, the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) for medical admissions is India’s largest entrance test.

The application deadline for CUET-UG was March 30, and the exam will be held from May 21 to May 31. This year, in a departure from tradition, the exam will be held in three shifts.
