Jaipur resident doctors end their walkout in protest against the RTH Bill

Residents who have been opposing the Right to Health Bill ( RTH Bill ) have decided to put an end to their protest and start working again as of today.

The announcement significantly hinders the progress of other doctors and operators of private hospitals. However, the Jaipur Residents Doctors’ Association (JARD) is still split over this choice, with a group of resident doctors threatening to escalate the agitation if the decision is not accepted.

Office bearers of the Resident Doctors Association from different districts, including Jaipur, announced the conclusion of the protest after a late-night conference with resident doctors, the Secretary of Medical Health Education, and other officials. Resuming at 9 a.m. were residents’ responsibilities in the hospital’s OPD, IPD, and other departments. Because it was a state holiday today, the OPD was only open from 9 to 11 am.

Residents at SMS Hospital’s RD Hostel have chosen to carry on with their strike notwithstanding the announcement. By composing a letter to SMS Principal Dr. Rajeev Bagrahatta and establishing a struggle committee, they intend to continue their protest.
