Nagaur five men were detained on Monday after it was claimed they cut off a man’s nose as a kind of “punishment” for eloping with a married woman who was 22 years old.

The accused posted a video of the horrifying act, which occurred in Nagaur district, on social media, where it quickly gained popularity. The victim, Hameed Khan, 25, complained on onday, and the five people—the woman’s father and four brothers—were first held in Nagaur.

As they arrived in Ajmer, they were detained. Hameed was residing in a leased home in Gegal village in the Ajmer district after eloping with the woman in January of this year. Hameed claimed in his police report that on March 18, at around 4 p.m., Parkash Khan, Aziz Khan, Iqbal Khan, Hussein, Momin, Ameen, Saleem, and the mother of the woman arrived at his room in Gegal and drove him and his “wife” to Maulasar in Nagaur.

Hameed stated, “My wife was taken to Ratau village while they brought me to Maroth. According to authorities, the woman was immediately taken from her after the abduction and delivered to her husband in Ratau, who is not a suspect. “The accused mercilessly beat me with clubs and iron rods at Maroth, and at around two in the morning, they dragged me close to the Maroth lake and cut my nose with a sickle while shooting a video.

Then they abandoned me on Nawa Road, from which point I travelled to Parbatsar Hospital for medical attention before going to Gegal Police Station to file a report, according to Hameed. The woman’s father and four brothers were seized and questioned by Nagaur and Ajmer police after they watched the video.
Rupinder Singh, IGP of the Ajmer Range, declared that this was a barbaric deed befitting of the Middle Ages. “We would not accept anyone taking the law into their hands,” he added. According to the investigation, the woman’s family reported her missing to the local police station in January after Hameed eloped with the woman, who was already married.

The woman’s family and in-laws, on the other hand, believed the incident to have damaged their reputation and started looking for the couple. They made the decision to punish the two after learning that they resided in Gegal village, according to IGP Singh. To determine if additional people were engaged in the crime, police were looking into the situation.
