Protect your child (St. Edmund’s School , Jawahar Nagar , Jaipur)

St.Edmund’s  School ,Jawahar Nagar ,Jaipur conducted a workshop on POCSO Act 2012 on 27.08.2016. Mrs.Pratima Srivastava Counselor and advisor of the school guided the staff members and other working people of the institution .She explained in detail about the Protection of Children form Sexual Offences Act,2012 . With the help of power point presentation she gave the tips to protect child from Sexual Abuse.She further added that parents plays a vital role in protecting the child and for that they have to be involved in the child’s life and show interest in their day to day activity. The workshop was knowledgeable as some people were not aware about this Act.She also gave a child helpline no.1098 which is working for 24 hrs.Further she spoke about the School Committee members who are always ready to help the students.

Atlast,an open discussion was there in which the staff members asked questions related to it,and their queries were solved by her.

Principal Dr.Pooja Singh said that awareness is must and it is not necessary that we should take care of our own children but of other kids too and for that we have to keep our eyes open and encourage children to speak up and let them know they won’t get in trouble.
