The group headed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde received the party name “Shiv Sena” and the emblem “Bow and Arrow” from the Election Commission of India (ECI) on Friday

Former Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray took a shot at Union home minister Amit Shah on Sunday by quoting the famous line from the Bollywood film “Mr India”: “Mogambo khush hua.” Thackeray was upset with the Election Commission of India (ECI) for allowing the faction led by Eknath Shinde to keep the party name and symbol. Shah was the object of Thackeray’s criticism when he said, “doodh ka doodh aur pani ka pani ho gaya (bring out ultimate truth)” in reference to the ECI’s order, during an encounter with members of the north Indian community in Andheri.

Shah was mocked by the speaker, who compared him to the villain “Mogambo” from the Anil Kapoor-starring movie Mr. India by saying, “‘Mogambo khush hua’ on the Election Commission order.”

A day after the Election Commission gave the Shinde-led group the party name “Shiv Sena” and the emblem “bow and arrow,” Shah, who was in Pune on a visit, said that the election panel proved that truth always wins out.

The Union Minister of Housing remarked, “The Election Commission announced “doodh ka doodh, aur paani ka paani” yesterday. Yesterday, the “Satyameva Jayate” formula gained significance. The party name “Shiv Sena” and the bow and arrow symbol were given to Shinde Ji.”

Thackeray insulted Shah by saying, “Someone who recently visited Pune inquired about the state of affairs in Maharashtra. Later he received a reply stating that the EC had ruled in their favour. The same individual then replied, “Very well, Mogambo Khush Hua.””

Thackeray said, “Shah and his party are pursuing the divide-and-rule tactic in India, just like Mogambo who tried to dominate the country by separating people.

The former chief minister also called the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) his “wolf” in a criticism on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Thackeray made the following comment in response to Modi’s recent speech in Parliament, in which he claimed that he had defeated the opposition on his own: “He sends his wolves like ED, CBI on the opponents and then says he fights alone.”
