Criminals are increasingly showcasing their firearms on Instagram Reels and even providing instruction on how to use them

Jaipu:- With social media, especially Facebook and Instagram, the selling of illegal weapons has increased in Rajasthan. Criminals are increasingly showcasing their firearms on Instagram Reels and even providing instruction on how to use them. In a recent incident, two miscreants were apprehended at Jaipur’s Karni Vihar police station while attempting to sell weapons via social media channels.

The Commissionerate has established a specific team to monitor social media and take appropriate action in order to combat this expanding tendency.

Police detained Vishnu Singh alias Ballu Rajpura and Dinesh alias Dinesh Bhurani during an inquiry for selling illegal weapons and ammunition. After concluding the deals, the thieves bought the firearms in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and sold them in Jaipur.

The action against criminals who were selling guns was taken on February 24 at the Karni Vihar police station on Gandhi Way, according to DCP (West) Vandita Rana. Two people arrived in a white Swift Dzire automobile to deliver illicit weapons and ammunition to a customer. The illegal arms supplier was captured together with Vishnu Singh alias Ballu Rajpura (22) from Losal Sikar and Dinesh alias Dinesh Bhurani (21) from Sedwa Barmer by the police team under the direction of SHO (Karni Vihar) Likhma Ram.

The cellphone also had a tonne of movies on it showing illegal firearms and ammunition. Even more, Ballu Rajpura made Instagram Reels of firearms, which he posted on his personal social media page.
