In connection with their alleged involvement in the purported data leak from the CoWIN portal, a man from Bihar was detained and a young person was nabbed, officials said on Thursday
According to them, the man is suspected of leaking the information using the Telegram app.
According to reports, information on residents registered on the CoWIN platform may have been compromised. Opposition parties have urged the government to take preventative measures.

Such reports have been labelled “mischievous” and “without any basis,” but the government insists that the CoWIN portal is entirely secure and has sufficient data privacy precautions.
The issue was referred for review to the nation’s nodal cyber security organisation CERT-In, which stated in its initial report that the CoWIN database’s APIs were not directly accessed by the backend database for the Telegram bot at the focus of the alleged leak.
The Union Health Ministry also said in a statement that an internal exercise to assess the current security measures has been started.
The CoWIN portal is a database that contains information on everyone in the nation who has received a COVID-19 vaccination.
