Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbag Singh announced on Thursday that one individual had been detained by the J&K police in connection with the twin blasts that occurred in Jammu’s Narwal on January 21 and left nine people injured.

He said at a news conference that Arif, a Reasi-based LeT terrorist with connections to Pakistan, had been detained in relation to the explosions. The timing of the IEDs was such that they caused the most casualties, “He continued by saying that by following protocol, the police were able to rescue several lives.

Since 2010, Arif has worked for the government as a teacher, according to DGP Singh. “He began working for the ReT program in 2010 and transitioned to regular teaching in 2016,” he says.

He added that Arif was a member of a module “which is being used to carry out such attacks,” saying “He was given money after carrying out these IED assaults.”

The cops discovered from him a unique “perfume IED.” The DGP stated that the perfume IED is unique in that it resembles a perfume bottle and that the authorities are attempting to learn more about it.

According to the authorities, near the end of December, a drone dropped off three IEDs for him. Two of them were used in the Narwal explosions, and the police found a third one that resembles a perfume bottle.

The DGP claimed that Kasim, a Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist operating out of Pakistan and suspected of being responsible for the recent IED explosion in Shastri Nagar and the Katra bus attack, had connections to Arif.
