In Upper Dangri, in the Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, one of the three houses attacked by militants late Sunday resulted in a huge explosion on Monday that claimed the life of a child and injured four others, including another kid and three women.
Although it was not immediately clear if it was a grenade or an IED, sources claimed it seemed to be an IED set by militants to cause further casualties when the police and security forces arrived.
Mukesh Singh, the additional director general of police in Jammu, confirmed that the child died in the explosion and that a second youngster was in critical condition.
When militants assaulted three residences at Upper Dangri in the Rajouri district on Sunday evening, four people were murdered and six others were injured.
