PM Modi flags off 2 new Vande Bharat Express trains

Vande Bharat trains connect Delhi and Varanasi, Delhi and Shri Vaishno Devi Mata Katra, Gandhinagar and Mumbai, New Delhi and Amb Andaura, Chennai and Mysuru, and Nagpur and Bilaspur. Here are the schedules for India’s eight train routes

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch two new Vande Bharat Express trains on Friday from Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus. The new and improved Vande Bharat Express trains 2.0 will run between Mumbai and Solapur, as well as between Mumbai and Sainagar Shirdi, the gateway to the Deccan Plateau.

These two trains provide superior passenger amenities such as on-board Wi-Fi, a GPS-based passenger information system, plush interiors, reclining seats, bio vacuum toilets with touch-free amenities, diffused LED lighting, charging points beneath each seat, individual touch-based reading lights, and concealed roller blinds. They also have modern mini-pantries and emergency communication systems for passengers to communicate with the crew.

Vande Bharat trains already run between Delhi and Varanasi, Delhi and Shri Vaishno Devi Mata Katra, Gandhinagar and Mumbai, New Delhi and Amb Andaura, Chennai and Mysuru, and Nagpur and Bilaspur.

This is one of the two most recent Vande Bharat train routes that connects Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Solapur. This cutting-edge high-speed train will link the commercial capital with Maharashtra’s textile city. The train will provide faster access to pilgrimage sites such as Solapur’s Siddheshwar, Akkalkot, Tuljapur, Pandharpur near Solapur, and Alandi near Pune. While the current superfast train takes 7 hours and 55 minutes, the Vande Bharat will take 6 hours and 30 minutes, saving 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Sainagar Shirdi-Mumbai:

The second of two new trains improves connectivity between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Sainagar Shirdi. The train will connect Mumbai to pilgrimage sites in Maharashtra such as Nashik, Trimbakeshwar, and Sainagar Shirdi.

New Delhi-Varanasi route:

On February 15, 2019, the first Vande Bharat Express train between New Delhi and Varanasi was launched. A distance of 759 km requires eight hours of travel time. The train leaves Delhi at 6 a.m. and arrives in PM Modi’s Lok Sabha constituency at 2 p.m. It departs at 3 p.m. and arrives in the national capital at 11 p.m. on the way back.

New Delhi-Shri Vaishno Devi Mata Katra:

The Indian Railways launched the first all-vegetarian Vande Bharat train on the Delhi-Vaishno Devi Mata Katra route. The train cuts travel time by four hours. It takes only 8 hours to travel from the national capital to the pilgrimage site. The train departs New Delhi at 6 a.m. and arrives in Katra at 2 p.m., while the return train departs at 3 p.m. and arrives in New Delhi at 11 p.m.

Gandhinagar-Mumbai:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Gandhinagar-Mumbai Vande Bharat Express on September 30, 2022. He also rode the train from Gandhinagar to Ahmedabad’s Kalupur railway station. The train leaves Mumbai Central at 6.10 a.m. and arrives in Gujarat’s capital at 12.30 p.m. The train departs Gandhinagar at 2.05 p.m. and arrives at Mumbai Central at 8.35 p.m. The train makes stops in Surat, Vadodara, and Ahmedabad.

New Delhi to Amb Andaura:

The Vande Bharat train between New Delhi and Amb Andaura in Himachal Pradesh will begin service in November 2022, just before the Himachal Pradesh Assembly elections. The train departs from the capital at 5:50 a.m. and arrives at Amb Andaura railway station at 11:05 a.m. The trip takes 5.15 hours. The train departs at 1 p.m. and arrives in New Delhi at 6:25 p.m.

Chennai-Mysuru:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off South India’s first Vande Bharat train between Chennai and Mysuru on November 11, 2022. The train journey takes a total of six and a half hours on both sides. The train leaves Chennai’s MGR Central Station at 5.50 a.m. and arrives in Mysuru at 12.20 p.m. It departs at 1.05 p.m. and arrives in Chennai at 7.30 p.m.

The Vande Bharat train travels from Nagpur to Bilaspur in five and a half hours. This train stops in three places: Raipur, Durg, and Gondia. The train departs Bilaspur around 6.45 a.m. and arrives in Nagpur at 12.15 p.m. The train leaves Nagpur at 2 p.m. and arrives in Bilaspur at 7.35 p.m.
