On this occasion, Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, presented the theme for NSD 2024, “Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat,” highlighting India’s dedication to scientific and technological innovation and independence.

Every year on February 28th, people celebrate National Science Day (NSD) in honor of Sir C.V. Raman, who received the Nobel Prize in 1930 for discovering the “Raman Effect.” The National Science Day (NSD) designation endeavors to advance science communication endeavors nationwide, fostering scientific investigation and cooperation.

India’s Scientific Accomplishments

Recent years have seen a notable increase in India’s scientific trajectory, with notable contributions made in a number of disciplines, including biotechnology, astronomy, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, and space research. Notable achievements include the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the moon’s south pole and India’s strong ability to manufacture vaccines during the COVID-19 epidemic.
