Credent TV | The West Bengal Minister Partha Chatterjee’s associate’s home was raided by the Enforcement Directorate today, and they came away with 20 crore in cash. Arpita Mukerjee’s home was searched by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an alleged fraud involving the recruitment of teachers in the state of West Bengal.
The agency in charge of the investigation issued a statement in which it said that “the abovementioned sum is alleged to be profits of crime of the said SSC fraud.”
The search teams have requested the cooperation of bank authorities in order to count the money using counting devices.
Additionally, more than twenty mobile phones have been found from Arpita Mukherjee’s residence, and an investigation into their function and use is now underway.
In addition to Chatterjee, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) carried out searches on many other individuals, including Minister of State for Education Paresh C. Adhikary, MLA Manik Bhattacharya, and others.
Partha Chatterjee, who is now the minister for industry and commerce, held the position of education minister at the time when the West Bengal School Service Commission is accused of making allegedly unlawful appointments in government-run and government-aided schools.
