77th Independence Day Celebration & Investiture ceremony at DAV, Jaipur

The 77th Independence Day of our nation was celebrated on 15 August, 2022, with great respect, zeal and enthusiasm at DAV Centenary Public School, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur. The ceremony started at 8.00 a.m. in the school open ground with the gathering of staff and students with the full spirit of patriotism.

To celebrate the sovereignty of our nation, respected Principal Shri. A K Sharma, accompanied by his staff members, hoisted the Indian tricolor flag and all in unison sang the National Anthem and expressed the joy on this hard-earned freedom. The central theme guiding this year’s festivities is “Nation First, Always First,” an integral element of the broader “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Celebration. All the programmes and events on this day will be based on this theme.  For year 2023 PM Modi has also announced HAR GHAR TIRANGA Campaign for public to self- hoist the tri-colour flag ceremony on 15 August 2023 Independence day.

The students and teachers of DAV Centenary Public School, Vaishali Nagar, Jaipur also participated in all the programs with zeal and enthusiasm to reflect our pride and solidarity in the country’s diversity.

The programme began with a welcome address by the the Activity In charge Dr. Priyanka Joshi. The gamut of celebration activities held on the campus consisted of patriotic poetry recitation by the Principal, and patriotic song  presented by the Music Department and a Dance Drama  performed by students which portrayed the “Jalianwallah Bagh Massacre” filled everyone with pure patriotism.

It was followed by the Investiture Ceremony to encourage and kindle leadership qualities in our young prodigies and the Student Council for the session 2022-23 was formed. The Investiture Ceremony 2023-24 successfully inducted the newly elected and selected members of the school’s prefectorial board on 15 August 2023. The newly formed Council –House Captains, Vice House Captains, Sports Captains, Cultural Captains for the four Houses- Dayanand, Hansraj, Shraddhanand and Vivekanand for Junior School, Secondary and Senior secondary School  were honoured by our respected Principal, Mr. Ashok Kumar Sharma along with the Supervisory Head and Acadamic Coordinator. Badges and sashes were conferred on the newly elected Students’ Council. Dr. Priyanka Joshi, Activity Incharge announced the names of the appointees who would take into their hands the reigns of responsibility. Principal Sir administered the oath of allegiance to the newly appointed Board of Students’ Council, who swore to serve their Alma Mater with utmost sincerity and to the best of their abilities.

In his address, Principal Shri A K Sharma, conveyed best wishes and also reminded the students and the teachers of the sacrifices made by our great freedom fighters and made us take pledge that we would serve our motherland, India, with heart, body, and soul to bring it glory and laurels with our dignified deeds.  He called   the newly elected Office Bearers as ‘Responsibility Bearers” and advised them to coordinate with the staff members, fellow students and B group staff while discharging their duties. He also blessed us all with his motivational speech urging all to re-imagine where we need to be and what the path that can take us there is. Respected Principal Sir also paid tribute to all the prominent leaders of India who had heroically fought for the country’s freedom in the past. Ms. Manju Yadav, Supervisory head alongwith the newly elected Office Bearers gave a floral accord to our Respected Principal Sir . Mr. Vipin Kumar Sharma, Academic Coordinator extended his votes of thanks to all who had made this programme successful. A photo session was also held for the newly elected Office Bearers, along with Principal Sir, their respective House Masters and House In charges. The programme concluded with National song and prasad distribution.
