Credent TV | In the memory of the National President of Jan Natya Sangh, Ranbir Singh, a heartfelt tribute was organized at Kumaranand Hall, under the joint aegis of the Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh and IPTA.

The Chief Guest, National General Secretary of Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh, Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sirsa said that Ranbir Singh not only gave new dimensions to theatre, but also to culture and history. He did an authentic accounting of the history of the state with a modern idea.

He was a beacon of light in today’s atmosphere of violence and communalism, intolerance. A flame was burning inside him. He worked to connect the culture with the people and he has left a strong legacy for the youth. We have to hold it firmly.

Presiding over the function, eminent story writer Dr. Hetu Bhardwaj said that Ranbir Singh adopted the culture of common man at the level of culture. The new curriculum he prepared for theater acting and drama would prove to be valuable to the younger generation. It should be published. He believed in behavior and conduct more than principles.

Pro. Mohan Shrotriya said that he has created such a solid and unique creation in the history of literature and culture, for which he deserves to be called Sanskriti Purush. He used to face great difficulties regarding ideology and literature, ideology and theatre. He rewrote the culture policy in the current context which should be implemented. Universities should do serious research on their works.

Renowned playwright Ravi Chaturvedi shared his experience with Ranbir Singh saying that he was the encyclopedia of theatre. He had amazing knowledge of Parsi theatre. He had an unmatched treasure trove of books. He had up-to-date knowledge of the International Theatre. He never wanted respect. He prepared the constitution of Jawahar Kala Kendra Jaipur. Ranbir Singh’s play ‘Hi Mera Dil’ had 1500 shows across India which is a record. He was a rebellious writer.

Eminent poet Krishna Kalpit said that the passing away of Ranbir Singh is like the falling of a banyan tree. He was a theater artist and theater thinker of a high order. He worked with great artists like Meena Kumari and Ashok Kumar. He will also be remembered as a historian. He dealt with IPTA, Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh and trans-formative forces with affinity and compassion. They remained attached to the purpose till the very last moment.

On this occasion, Farooq Afridy, a member of the President’s Board of Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh, said that it is the responsibility of Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh to make efforts to make the works of Ranbir Singh permanent. There is a need to spread their cultural vision and thinking to the masses. They wanted new plays to be written and society should be warned.

Renowned critic Dr. Rajaram Bhadu said that he had a plan to reorganize Jan Natya Manch and give it a new look. He said that today when the challenges of resistance are increasing, then their lack is being felt.

The program was conducted by the State General Secretary of Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh Premchand Gandhi.

On this occasion Sunita Chaturvedi, Amitabh Pandey, Raghavendra Rawat, Rachna Srivastava also expressed their views.

In the tribute meeting, theatrical director Sabir Khan, senior journalists Om Thanvi, Om Saini, Harish Karamchandani, IPTA, Jaipur President Sanjay Vidrohi, farmer leader Tara Singh, labor leader DK Changani, Nisha Sidhu, theatrical director Vasudev Bhatt, Narendra Acharya in large numbers including Cultural workers, journalists, litterateurs, theater workers etc. were present in the event.
