‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’: During the debate, a student asked The PM Modi , “What is more crucial? Is it better to work smart or hard?”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with students, parents, and teachers during his annual ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’ event today. During the interaction, he advised parents against putting undue pressure on their children regarding grades, and he also advised students on how to strike a balance between hard work and smart work.
“I urge parents not to put pressure on their children. However, students should not underestimate their abilities, according to the Prime Minister.

“It is very natural for family members to have a lot of expectations, and there is nothing wrong with that, but if the family members have these expectations because of social status, that is a cause for concern,” he said. During the discussion, a student asked PM Modi, “What is more important? Is it better to work smart or work hard?”

‘Pariksha Pe Charcha’:

“Some people work hard and some people work smart,” the Prime Minister remarked. “We should learn the nuances of these aspects and work accordingly to achieve the desired results,” he said.PM Modi used the story of ‘The Thirsty Crow’ to teach students how to differentiate between hard work and smart work.

He also used a cricket analogy to emphasise the importance of concentration.

“Just as a batter focuses on the ball thrown to him while ignoring the cheers of fours and sixes from the crowd,” PM Modi said. “Do not succumb to pressures. Maintain your concentration, “He went on to say.

The Prime Minister emphasised the importance of time management and encouraged students to learn it from their mothers. “Have you ever observed your mother’s ability to manage her time? A mother is never burdened by the enormous amount of work she does. If you observe your mother, you will learn how to manage your time effectively “PM Modi informed students.

A few students also asked him how he handles opposition and media criticism. PM Modi responded with a witty retort. “This is an off-topic question,” he explained. He went on to say that “criticism is like purification” in a democracy. “Criticism is essential for a prosperous democracy,” PM Modi added.

The sixth edition of the interaction was held at New Delhi’s Talkatora Indoor Stadium.

This year, over 38 lakh students registered for ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha,’ with more than 16 lakh coming from state boards.

PM Modi also spoke out strongly against the use of unfair exam practises.

“Cheating may help someone pass an exam or two, but it will not help them in life, he claims. Never take the easy way out. Students’ hard work will always help them advance in life “He stated.

He added that students should examine the pressure placed on them to see if they are underestimating their abilities.
