PM Modi receive a grey tick on Twitter, while the Adani Group received a gold tick? Now you understand what a blue tick means.

Elon Musk is constantly changing the verification system in order to increase Twitter’s earnings. Only time will tell how much Twitter’s earnings will increase as a result of this change, but the new verification system has caused confusion among users.

Previously, under certain terms and conditions, politicians, celebrities, journalists, and other public figures would receive blue ticks on Twitter; there was no fee associated with this practise. Twitter was purchased by American billionaire Elon Musk in October of last year. The Blue Tick plan was converted to a subscription-based one after Musk took control of Twitter.

At the same time, the Twitter account has received gold, gray, and blue ticks. Many Twitter users are finding it difficult to understand the new verification system in this situation. That is why we are going over Twitter’s Blue Tick, Gold Tick, and Gray Tick in great detail.

The blue tick

Previously, the blue tick indicated that this Twitter account is active, notable, and authentic. This was used by Twitter to independently verify the public interest base. Twitter is now awarding blue ticks to accounts that subscribe to it via the new verification system.

On behalf of Twitter, it was announced that the company would begin discontinuing its legacy verification programme on April 1. As a result, the business will begin removing blue ticks from users’ accounts who have not subscribed. However, Twitter has not yet taken away the blue checkmark from accounts that have already been verified.

In India, a Twitter Blue subscription costs Rs 900 per month.

Indian users of iOS and Android smartphones must pay a monthly subscription fee of Rs 900 to Blue. Additionally, this service has a Rs. 650 monthly subscription fee for web users. Users who subscribe to Twitter receive a variety of special features, including the ability to send lengthy (4000 character) tweets.

Silver tick

There is a gold tick on the Adani Group’s official Twitter account, which you can see by looking at it. Additionally, this account’s profile picture appears in a square format rather than a round one. The gold tick on Twitter indicates that this is a legitimate business account. Gold Tick, like Blue Tick, is not a free service.

Every month, the organisation must pay 1000 dollars (about 81 thousand 842 rupees) to Gold Tick. Not only that, but the organisation with Gold Tick must pay an additional fee of $ 50 per month, or approximately 4 thousand rupees, for other accounts linked to its Twitter account.

The grey tick

If you look at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official account, you will notice a grey tick next to his name. Twitter accounts with grey ticks also have a flag label that indicates the account’s designation. Many grey tick accounts, on the other hand, do not even have a flag label. For example, while Rahul Gandhi’s Twitter account has a grey tick, it lacks a flag label.

Governments, multilateral organizations, multilateral officials, and some senior leaders receive grey ticks. There is also grey tick on the Twitter accounts of the United Nations and WHO, which are multilateral organisations. There is currently no official information about grey tick from Twitter, such as whether you have to pay for this as well as gold and blue tick.
