Elon Musk has explained why Twitter was named ‘X’. In response to a tweet, Musk stated that Twitter will offer a variety of financial services in the coming months

Musk also stated that the name Twitter was acceptable as long as posts on the platform were limited to 140 characters. However, you can now post almost anything. It also comes with several hours of video. Musk recently raised the character limit for posts from 5,000 to 25,000.

Elon Musk has been linked to the X letter since 1999. Then he founded the online banking business X.com. Later, it merged with another business to form PayPal. Musk bought the domain name “X.com” back from PayPal in 2017.

The domain, in his words, holds “great sentimental value” for him. X can also be seen working for his other company, spacex. His new AI business is called XAI as well. One of Musk’s sons was given the name X-A-12 Musk in 2020. “Ash” is how the character is pronounced.

1. fired more than half of the staff

Musk fired Twitter’s four top executives right after acquiring the company. These included the CEO Parag Agarwal, the director of finance Ned Segal, and the directors of law Vijaya Gadde and Sean Edgett. There were about 7500 employees at Twitter when Musk took over, but today there are only about 2500.

2. Unblock several restricted accounts

Musk unblocked a number of blocked accounts, including that of former US President Donald Trump, in November 2022. He conducted a Twitter poll regarding Trump’s comeback. In all countries, Elon Musk has introduced Blue Subscription. For internet users in India, Blue subscriptions cost Rs. 650. The monthly mobile subscription fee is Rs 900. It has a lot of features, such as the blue tick and the long video post.

4. Character limit raised; reading restriction

The character limit for posts has been increased by Musk from 280 to 25,000. There is also a post reading restriction in place. Only 10,000 posts can be read by verified users each day. Unverified users have access to 1,000 posts, but new unverified users are only permitted to read 500 posts each day.
