Actress Shilpa Shetty’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra, announced their “separation” via his X account, formerly known as Twitter. Without providing any background, he stated, “We have separated and kindly request that you give us time during this difficult period.” While many users of the internet were left to question whether he had actually split up with his wife as a result of his unexpected post, some referred to it as a marketing ploy.

On Instagram Stories, Raj also uploaded a screenshot of the same post. In response to his update, a user asked the following query in the comments section: “Separate means? Divorce?” Another person added, “Sad news, shocking news indeed.” “Is it a movie gimmick?” a person questioned while another termed it a “publicity stunt”.

In a subsequent article, Raj explained that he had been’separating’ from the masks he had been donning for the last few months. “Goodbye Masks…Now is the time to break off! I appreciate you keeping me safe for the past two years. Onward to the following stage of my adventure,” he wrote.

In July 2021, Raj Kundra was detained and taken to Mumbai’s Arthur Road Jail in connection with an alleged pornographic case. One of the major debates of the year revolved around it. After spending roughly two months in custody while being granted bail by a metropolitan magistrate, he was released from jail in September of that same year. He was charged with violations of the Information Technology Act, the Indecent Representation of Women (Prevention Act), and the pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

Raj, who has consistently insisted that he was falsely accused in the case, is reportedly using his movie to tell his side of the tale. On November 3, UT69 will be seen in theaters.

In relation to his film, Raj recently disclosed Shilpa’s reaction when he told her about his film idea. “I told her that I had a script and was waiting for her response,” he said News18. A flying chappal flew at my face as I moved away from her. I believe she thought the notion was a little risky at first. Perhaps she assumed the film would not be created.”

“She was quite helpful. ‘Tu acting kar lega (would you be able to act)?’ she inquired. “I told her I’d be able to because I’d done some acting by going to jail,” Raj continued. Raj and Shilpa Shetty tied the knot in 2009. They have two daughters, Viaan and Samisha.
