REPORT ON CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAM 23-24 (II PHASE)

The II phase of Capacity Building Programme for teachers was organized virtually by D.A.V Centenary Public School, Jaipur under the aegis of RTC, Jaipur Cluster, Rajasthan Zone-C, DAVCAE, New Delhi, from 28 December to 30 December, 2023 from 09:40 am to 04:15 pm
The main objective of the workshop was to equip the teachers with varieties of activities in teaching and learning , to strengthen them in planning and visualizing lesson, to meet the training needs of every teacher, to bring out the best in them and inspire them to take things from a fresh perspective.
The workshop was conducted for all levels (Primary,middle& Secondary) and all subjects i.e English, Hindi, Sanskrit, Maths, Science, Social Science, and for EEDP, under the able guidance of Mr. A. K. Sharmaji Principal & ARO Jaipur Cluster Head, RTC, Rajasthan, Zone-C . 07 different schools of DAV attended the workshop and E- Certificates will be distributed to all the participants.
The workshop commenced virtually with illumination of the lamp of knowledge followed by Gayatri Mantra and address of our respected Principal,Mr. A.K. Sharma who highlighted the need for updating teachers in continuous educational scenario for better performance of the students.
The Principals of different D.A.V schools, who were subject experts were also the part of this workshop. They supervised the proceedings and further guided the participating teachers and motivated them to be equipped with latest methodologies for effective and joyful teaching. After the inaugural session the teachers joined their respective subject links for the workshop.
In primary, emphasis was laid on activity based learning. Importance of competency based learning, its need and different ways to incorporate it into the classrooms was discussed. The teachers were apprised of different methodologies like Experiential Learning, Interdisciplinary Learning, Collaborative Learning,use of question banks to improve quality to make the teaching-learning process more joyful and meaningful.

Many interactive activities were taken up to motivate and reinforce the teachers to ‘Think out of the Box’ . Also impetus was given on child centric, play oriented activity based learning , audio/ visual aids, preparing concept /mind map, developing language skills along with a wide range of interesting activities related to their topics. Teachers were acquainted with different teaching methodologies and innovative activities to help them enhance their teaching abilities, thereby making the subject interesting for the learners. To break the monotony of the programme, some soothing and refreshing activities were also conducted to keep everyone active and energized. The workshop also aimed at making classroom teaching more interactive and effective by using different apps and educational websites.
The workshop concluded by the vote of thanks by our supervisory heads and address of our worthy Principal and mentor Mr. A.K. Sharma who encouraged the teachers with his golden words by saying that education is the training of body, mind and soul, i.e the training of head, hand and heart, so let us train or educate ourselves, then only we can say that we have trained our head, hand and heart. He emphasized on holistic education and it comes when there is right attitude and right mindset. He guided the teachers how to enhance the interest of the students in the subject and said that the teacher must be empathetic and compassionate towards the needs of the child. He laid emphasis on increasing the critical thinking skills and creative thinking abilities of not only themselves but also the students they are catering to.
He motivated the teachers by saying that this kind of workshop is necessary for the teachers to enhance their capability and it’s a good platform to plan their teaching strategies for the improvement of the result and also helps to disseminate the technology based learning which creates creative thinking and results in experiential learning. The training sessions finally concluded with Shanti Mantra chanted by all.
The workshop aimed at developing potential knowledge and skills of the teachers to carry out predefined task and understand their role as teachers. The workshop was interesting, interactive, engrossing and an eye opener for the teachers and many queries were discussed and analyzed.
The workshop was an innovative approach to teaching and learning process by using different strategies, principles and methods for holistic development of students and opened new horizons of effective teaching. The workshop was indeed enlightening as it provided a platform to the teachers to share their ideas and they carried valuable information about the fresh and novel ideas which can be applied to the teaching and learning.
The participants felt delighted and privileged to be a part of such an informative programme.
