Over Vijayawada, a rare Green Comet will be observed
With the uncommon apparition of a Green Comet after thousands of years, a miracle is set to take place in the skies of Vijayawada from February 1 to February 6.
After approximately 50,000 years, the Green Comet, designated C/2022 E3 (ZTF), will be visible in the Southern Hemisphere under clear skies. In the past, during the Ice Age, it has appeared over Earth.

The Green Comet will pass within 26 million miles (42 million kilometres) of Earth on February 1, according to NASA. For millions of years, it won’t come back.
With the Wide Field Survey Camera at the Zwicky Transient Facility, astronomers discovered the comet for the first time in March of last year. At the time, it was in Jupiter’s orbit.
