ANNUAL YOUTH FESTIVAL – 2014-2015

Jaipur |13 Nov., The Annual Youth Festival of Saint Anselm’s Sr. Sec. School, Mansarovar commenced on 30th October, 2014 with the lighting of the lamp by the Principal Fr. Thomas, the Chief Guest,
Mr. Anil Kumar Bhargava, General Manager, Indian Oil Corporation and Fr. Cyril D’souza.

The first performance was an energetic action song performed by the four houses. The children captivated the audience with their actions and melody. The next was the solo song by the budding singers of the school. The students who awaited for the second half of the day were thrilled by the English plays which depicted social issues like atrocities on farmers, corruption, dowry, human trafficking etc. The plays were enlightening and inspired the audience to be sensitive towards the problems of the society. The last event i.e. the folk dances were beautifully blend with Indian tradition, culture and values leading the audience to experience the flora-fauna, festivals and culture of different Indian states.

The second day again was an energy and fun filled day. The English group song mesmerized each and everyone present. The Hindi play presented was a satire on the Indian society which was enjoyed by all and created awareness among the students to raise their voice against the wrong happenings around them. The best dancers of the school presented their solo dance performances in different dance styles like classical, hip-hop, contemporary etc. The last event i.e. the patriotic dances by the tiny tots was a thrilling experience which aroused love and respect for the country in the hearts of all.

The last and the most important day of the carnival was a grand show. The day began with the Hindi group song followed by the Mime act, one of the most challenging events.

The second half of the day consisted of declamation – the art of public speaking. The children who were dressed up as famous personalities of the world delivered some of the most inspiring speeches. The thematic dance performances were scintillating and were applauded. The children through their splendid dance performances conveyed messages like gender equality, power of true love, respect for the disabled and girls education. The Carnival concluded with the declaration of the results in which the Gold House bagged the first prize followed by Blue, Green and Red House respectively.

The three days mega event was appreciated and encouraged by all the eminent guests and judges for the initiative taken by the principal and the staff as it inculcated values like cooperation, team spirit, leadership and confidence etc. in the students.
