Kolkata | Searches are now being conducted by the Enforcement Directorate at an apartment in South Kolkata relating to a Bengal School Job Scam in which former minister Partha Chatterjee and actress Arpita Mukherjee have both been detained.
A locksmith was sent because the condo in the Fort Oasis complex was locked.
More than 50 core cash has been confiscated after the arrest of Mukherjee on July 23 from several apartments in Kolkata associated with her. The investigation indicates that Mr. Chatterjee, a Trinamool Congress politician, received payments for the employment of teachers and other personnel in 2016.
He was the minister of industries till Mamata Banerjee dismissed him and suspended him from the party last week. Alleged abuse of the ED by the BJP-led national government has prompted a time-bound investigation by the party.
