Who is Arpita Mukherjee TMC ?

A total of Rs. 21 crore was taken from Arpita Mukherjee’s residence in south Kolkata by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday. It’s possible that this big quantity of money was illegally obtained during the investigation of the recruitment fraud that the ED and CBI are investigating.

Who is Arpita Mukherjee ?

Who exactly is this Arpita Mukherjee, and how exactly is she supposed to be involved in this scheme? According to authorities from the ED, Mukherjee is a close acquaintance of Partha Chatterjee, who serves as the industries and commerce minister for West Bengal as well as the state secretary general for the governing Trinamool Congress.

“TMC is in no way connected to the funds that were confiscated by ED. Responding to this will be the individuals whose names have come up throughout the course of the inquiry, or their attorneys may answer on their behalf.

Reaction of TMC on Arpita Mukherjee

The party is keeping a close eye on the circumstances behind the dragging of its name. Kunal Ghosh, a spokeswoman for the TMC, said in a tweet that the party will reply “at the appropriate time.”

However, pictures that went viral showed Arpita Mukherjee sharing the stage with TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee, Partha Chatterjee, and Subrata Bakshi, TMC MP and the party’s state president, at a programme held in 2019 in south Kolkata by a puja committee that was patronised by Chatterjee. The event was organised by a puja committee.

Santanu Sen, a member of the TMC Parliamentary Party, said on Friday that “I don’t know any TMC worker or leader called Arpita Mukherjee.” This was when Chatterjee was being detained in the morning and was not accessible for his response.

What says Arpita Mukherjee’s mother Minati Mukherjee ?

According to Mukherjee’s mother Minati Mukherjee and several of her friends, she was interested in modelling and first met Chatterjee a few years ago when she was hired as a model by a small club in Chatterjee’s neighbourhood during puja. Friends of Minati Mukherjee also mentioned that she was a model.

“She used to be a model, and over the course of the past six to seven years she has created two to three stores that deal with nail art. One may be found in the north of Kolkata, while two can be found in the south. The maximum amount of time she was allowed to spend at her family’s home.

She would go to some of her other apartments on occasion. According to Soumen Roy, a friend of Mukherjee’s who has known her since 2002 and has been in contact with her since then, “As far as I know, three to four years ago she became affiliated with a puja committee in south Kolkata because that is how she got in contact with the ministry.”

Her mother resides at the family’s ancestral home in Belgharia, which is located in the North 24 Parganas district. She also owns a property in Belgharia, which is located on a ritzy residential complex there. According to one of her closest friends, she often stayed with her mother when she was younger.

“She had returned to the house three or four days before. She comes here very regularly in order to look after me. She was active in the Odisha modelling scene and also appeared in local films and television shows. Arpita Mukherjee’s mother, Minati Mukherjee, said that her daughter was also involved in the producing industry.

She gave a negative response when asked whether she has any idea where all of her enormous sum of money came from when she was questioned about it.

“How can I find out how and where she got such a large sum of money? What resources are available to me?” The media is where I first learned about it. Also, the only way I found out about the fact that she was the face of a puja committee that Partha Chatterjee patronised was via the media,” she claimed.

Officials from the ED said that they conducted a search warrant at Mukherjee’s apartment, which is located on the first floor of a prestigious housing complex in south Kolkata. The apartment was searched, and the results revealed a large amount of cash hidden in bundles and sealed envelopes, including bills with denominations of 500 and 2,000.

An officer from the ED was quoted as saying, “She was not participating and was either remaining quiet or dodging the queries presented to her concerning the source of the money.”
