School Violence

School Violence – When the aggression of one comes out in any sort of cruelty and the victim is less strong than the attacker it results in violence. Similarly when such kind of behavior has an effect on school’s educational system than it is termed as School Violence. School Violence is one of the major problems in today’s education system, which is increasing day by day at a rapid speed.

Types of school violence

• Abuse from school staff
• Gang Violence
• Physical exploitation
• Fights among the school students
• Any kind of injury done during school premises
• Sexual abuse
• Use of weapons
• Aggressive behavior
• Any kind of threat given to the victim

Such type of violence is a direct indication of serious harm to the educational environment. Many times taking them lightly or ignoring them even once may result in major issues. Sometimes the results are expected but many times the society has never hoped of a few unexpected results.

 Results of school violence

Students when they are incapable of coming out the suffering it results in aggression, drug abuse, use of alcohol and loneliness.

• Victims usually go under depression, which leads to low self esteem, sometimes to low school attendance and poor academic results also.
• In certain cases many unexpected results also comes out such as committing suicide, doing physical harm etc.
• Sometimes the feeling of revenge may whip up the victim to loose self-control.

Nobody expects to be the victim of any kind of violence but if it occurs then sitting quietly and just suffering from what happens is not the only solution because all such results ultimately harm nobody except the victim. There are some of the measures if adopted can help many people to overcome such ordeal and can save people from being the sufferer.

 Some of the measures are

• Protest- If the society comes together and makes complaint against such happenings than many innocent people can be saved from being the victim.
• Teacher’s training- Appropriate-training sessions provided to the educators may reduce the threat of being school victim.
• Student’s training- Suitable training sessions should be provided to the students to avoid any sort of violence and to control their aggression.
• Implementation of Acts- Execution of assorted acts also turn out to be beneficial to remove school violence
• Strong self control- Strong self-control in students and in teachers is the positive way to overcome any kind of school violence.

Adopting such measures strictly may lead to violence free educational structure.
